Gross new subscribers is simply the number of people who signed up for a membership on a given day. Total subscribers is the number of active memberships that we have received and processed payment for. When in doubt, always use the total subscribers figure. Also, the total subscriber number is cummulative, while the gross new subscriber number is monthly (i.e. - it starts back at zero at the beginning of each month)
